Hello! My name is Jamie Hellard and I am an award winning underwater photographer, girls who click ambassador, journalist, and illustrator based out of Victoria BC.

My photography journey started long before I ever picked up a camera. My intense passion for the water started young, I was surfing, wakeboarding, snorkelling, and swimming in quite literally every body of water I could find by age 7. I would go on to swim at a national level for a decade before retiring in 2021.

I identify as neurodivergent and have always felt that I viewed the world slightly differently than most of my peers. I struggled with this as a child and teenager, but today I believe it helps inform my art and inspires my passion for capturing unique and beautiful moments. I am at my happiest with sea water in my hair or a trail under my feet. As I spent more and more time in nature I became inspired to try to articulate my experiences through imagery. 

My brand, EcoAngle Photography, was born out of my desire to share my art and the beauty of the natural world, first with friends and family members and then later on with a growing group of community members, art enthusiasts & nature lovers. My art is heavily inspired by the beauty of the outdoors, and draws upon vibrant colour, and unique environments. I shoot many different subjects, but I specialize in underwater, ocean, and nature photography. I love to take my camera with me everywhere I travel, and I have been immensely privileged to take photos in 11 countries thus far!
